After Miguel Batista's remarks comparing Miss Universe against Miss Iowa Katherine Connors, it appears the two will meet.
"Katherine Connors today announced on Twitter she will throw out first pitch tomorrow at Nationals Park. Batista confirmed he'll catch it."
"'That will be nice,' Batista said. 'They're making a lot of news about it. Hopefully by the end of the day, when she goes back to Iowa, she says something good about us. Hopefully she says, 'Oh, he was a cool guy. He looked like a low-budget Vin Diesel, but he's nice.' Hopefully we're going to show her the best of Washington and she'll have a good time.'" reported the Washington Post.
Batista was booed at a game when fans expected someone else to pitch. "Imagine if you go to see Miss Universe, then you end up having to Miss Iowa, you might get those kind of boos," he said in another Washington Postpiece.
The remark did not set well with Connors. Batista sent her flowers to apologize. Now the two seem to be making the best of it.
Connors said she could pitch and walk down a run way in a swim suit. Batista admits he can only pitch.
While it appears the two have patched things up, this should be a reminder of the power of the tongue. James 3:8 says: "but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
